I have the 40gb PS3 and it's a beast, great machine, worth it
for the blu-ray drive alone and then there's the media centre stuff
and... oh yeah the games. Enjoy! :)
I've got the PS3 60GB, agree about the Blu-Ray drive. I really
must play some games and use it a bit more. It's looking really
pretty sitting there gathering dust.
I signed up for Lovefilm to get some blu-ray disks to watch in
1080p and that's pretty cost effective, they have a lot of blu-ray
titles as well and some PS3 games
£98 after all the trade ins. Burout Paradise or GT5 Prologue -
I've been a fan of both burnout and GT's in the past. I reckon I'll
use it more for movies bluray/streaming/downloading than gaming,
but I still can't wait.
I have GT5 Prologue and it's pretty good but not he full game,
the full game is due out later in the year I think, 900 cars or
something stupid and custom Top Gear content. I'd go for Burnout
for now I think
@Wavey GTA4 rules!!
Seriously, I always loved that series but it's amazing. It's a
large part of the reason I got a next gen console at all. The
multiplayer stuff is great and free on Playstation Network :)
cheers @dantheman.
Maybe I can pick up a used GT5 Prologue then to keep me going till
the real thing. Also @dantheman can you download High
Def movies directly on the PS3? or do you need to rent thru a
service like Lovefilm?
I'm not sure about downloading high def films directly but there
is quite a bit of stuff available in the online store, games and
films. You can play most formats and stream them from a network if
you have stuff on your PC. I found blu-ray discs were a quick and
easy way to get content, downloading a high def film is about
6-10gb often and would take for ever

I'm really hoping that the Birthday Fairy will bring me GTA.
