My Vista Reliability chart just hit 10.0 for the first time since install no apps crashed in a month - Firefox 3 helped a lot.

Before Service Pack 1, my reliability hovered around 6.0, then after it was around between 5.0 and 8.0 as Firefox 2 got itself in a state. Now With SP1 and Firefox 3 it is super stable doing everything, gaming, office stuff, browsing. Most Excellent. Let's see how long it stays at 10.0 for.

I'm sticking with xp. It works. I shudder at the thought of vista.

your comment is based on unfounded tat, try it, like it, even love it, but don't post random comments on something you haven't really experienced. Oh and get a quad core PC with a couple of gigs of ram before you try it.

@GeekYouUp: No chance, I tried it and it was horrible, end of.

I'm with @GeekYouUp on this one although I must admit I had no problems on SP1 either. I have a low end dual core. 2 gb ddr2 and it runs like a dream.

The only issues I have encountered was one driver issue with Nvidia for the 8800GTX for a couple of hours when I first set it up but Google sorted it out straight away when I turned to it. As well as that in terms of program incompatibilities I find sometimes, rarely at this stage, a program may not start first off if I have never used it before, but then usually clicking run as admin or in compatibility mode fixes it.

@Adventsparky: I don't have problems with loading any software on my XP install, so why upgrade to an OS which doesn't actually enhance my experience? Vista is an epic fail for me. I just don't like glassy glossy effect their trying to go with, it looks too lame. Honestly it's an eyesore. Essentially we are "upgrading to Vista" but what exactly are the benefits of doing so?

@adonisdemon: My view on people 'upgrading' to Vista is the same as when I like a film other people do not. I got 2 hours enjoyment out of the movie so why should I really care if someone else didn't like it.

Having said that I have no issue with people sticking to xp especially if they have at least tried it. Nothing annoys me more than the stigma surround vista to the extent that there are countless people, even professionals in the it sector advising people not to upgrade to vista and they haven't even tried it himself. It has gotten to the stage where by default people hate Vista whether they have tried it or not. That is what gets me.

I'm more comfortable navigating Vista than I ever was on XP, it suits me more to put nit simply. At this stage with most issues that I have heard people of having then it is a lot down to personal preference and if someone decides to stick with XP then I say let them. as long as they don't make their decision on this negativity which is in abundance on-line, about Vista, such as 'it crashes a billion times a second', well I'm sure everyone knows what I mean.

@Adventsparky: I think most impressions of Vista have been made from the initial release, where it was very buggy, crashy etc... first impressions usually last and MS didn't do themselves any favours. It's been labelled the BUG OS from MS and it will stay like that now, even if SP1 fixes bugs and makes it better. MS have to blame themselves for that.

I might look at it again on SP2, but I've detailed my thoughts very clearly here:
